Every teenager’s bedroom wall used to be crammed with photos of their icons, either privileged to be autographed, or printed off from the internet or simply cut out from magazines. Some would even create a slumbook-ish type of profile and wrap the filer in fancy paper or even decorate it with artsy fartsy stuff.
Well that is history. Nowadays, we see people creating fan sites in Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites. Some use their icon’s photos as their profile photos. I am one of these people who do not seem to get enough of the fervor and just want to capitalize on everything that has gone digital.
I am practically on a never ending high whenever I hear Nickelback’s songs. Not all of their songs may have hit the billboard charts, but all of them sure did hit higher in my standards. I needed to let out all the shrill from the inside so I created a fan site through Wix.com. I got introduced to building my own free website by a friend who made a fan site for her rock star hero.
I saw hers and I wanted exactly the same for me. I am not a programmer which is why I had hesitations but hey, after a few hours of fiddling with a few clicks with a stress-free guide, I got fellow fans browsing through my fan site. I did not even have a plan of how the web should look like, but there was an awesome support within Wix.com itself that helped me get done with flying colors!
